      <title>Children's Hooded Sweatshirts Recalled Due To Strangulation Hazard</title>
      <description>&lt;p&gt; &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Allura Imports Inc. announced a voluntary recall of about 3,700 &lt;a href="http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml10/10050.html"&gt;Girls hooded sweatshirts&lt;/a&gt; because they have drawstrings through the hoods which pose a strangulation hazard to children.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;To this date, the company has not received any reports of injury associated with the recall.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The sweatshirts, available in khaki, ivory pink, light pink, are velour and have a zip front. They were sold in a two-piece set with &amp;ldquo;Major Diva&amp;rdquo; printed on the front.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The recalled clothing was sold at Burlington Coat Factory stores nationwide from October 2008 through July 2009.&lt;/p&gt;

      <title>Halloween Themed Flashlights Recalled By Target Due To Burn Hazard</title>
      <description>&lt;p&gt; &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Target stores, in cooperation with the CPSC, announced a voluntary recall of &lt;a href="http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml10/10026.html"&gt;Halloween Flashlights&lt;/a&gt; because they can overheat and melt, posing a burn hazard to consumers.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;To this date, Target has received eight reports of the flashlights overheating and melting, including one report of burns to the hand.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Two types of Halloween-themed flashlights are included in the recall: mini flashlights and flashlights sold with stencils. More details and product examples can be found on the &lt;a href="http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml10/10026.html"&gt;CPSC Web site&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The flashlights were sold at Target stores nationwide from August 2009 through September 2009.&lt;/p&gt;

      <title>OfficeMax Chairs Recalled Due To Fall Hazard</title>
      <description>&lt;p&gt; &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;OfficeMax announced a voluntary recall of Task Chairs because the base post can break while in use, posing a &lt;a href="http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml09/09336.html"&gt;fall hazard&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;To date, the company has received 36 reports of the posts breaking on the chair, including 15 reports of injuries involving muscle strains, contusions and concussions.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The recall involves 216,000 OfficeMax Chairs with model numbers &lt;strong&gt;OM182 and OM96614.&lt;/strong&gt; The chairs were sold at OfficeMax stores nationwide, on the company&amp;rsquo;s Web site and in their product catalogs from September 2003 to July 2008.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Consumers can take the recalled chairs to any OfficeMax for a refund (with receipt) or $55 gift card (non-receipt returns).&lt;/p&gt;

      <title>Circo Booster Seats Recalled By Target</title>
      <description>&lt;p&gt; &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The recall includes Circo Booster Seats with the following manufacture date codes: XJ0811, XJ0812, XJ0901, and XJ0902 which were sold exclusively at Target. The seats are blue with green trim and have white straps.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.leapfrog.com/recall"&gt;LeapFrog Enterprises&lt;/a&gt; is voluntarily recalling &lt;a href="http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml09/09286.html"&gt;My Pal Scout Electronic Plush Toy Dogs&lt;/a&gt; because the decals on the paws of the toy can be removed and ingested, posing a choking hazard to small children.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;To date, the company has received two reports of children removing the decals from these items. One report included a child ingesting part of the decal.&lt;/p&gt;

      <title>Wal-Mart Recalls Women's Shoes Due To Fall Hazard</title>
      <description>&lt;p&gt; &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;a href="http://walmartstores.com/Recalls/"&gt;Wal-Mart Stores&lt;/a&gt;, in conjunction with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) voluntarily recalled 200,000 pairs of Women&amp;rsquo;s Shoes made by Joyfair Footwear because the heels can detach, posing a &lt;a href="http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml09/09191.html"&gt;fall hazard&lt;/a&gt; to consumers.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;To date, the company has not received any reports of injury involving the recalled product.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The shoe recall includes women&amp;rsquo;s sling-back, pointed shoes under the George brand, sold exclusively at Wal-Mart stores nationwide.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The agency advises consumers to stop wearing the shoes and return them to the nearest Wal-Mart store for a full refund.&lt;/p&gt;

      <title>Kidde Recalls Fire Extinguishers Due To Failure To Operate</title>

&lt;p&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.kidde-fireextinguisher.com/kidde/_cs/supporthome.aspx?sSessionID="&gt;Kidde&lt;/a&gt;, in conjunction with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC,) announced a recall to replace certain&lt;a href="http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml09/09151.html"&gt; XL Fire Extinguisher units&lt;/a&gt; because they may lose pressure faster than others and fail to operate in the event of a fire, therefore posing risk to the consumer and property.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;To date, the company has not received any reports of injury associated with the recalled fire extinguishers.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;b style=""&gt;The recall includes Kidde XL Fire Extinguishers with model numbers:&lt;/b&gt; FX340SC, FX340H, FX340GW, XL5MR, FX210R, FX340SC-2, FX210W, XL2.5TCZ-4, E-340-3 and with manufacture dates between October 2007 and April 2008.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The CPSC recommends consumers inspect the pressure gauge. If it points to the red zone, contact Kidde as soon as possible to receive a free replacement extinguisher.&lt;/p&gt;

      <title>Toy Construction Play Sets Recalled For Lead Violation</title>

&lt;p&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.ddiretail.com/911346_DDI_Play_Sets.pdf"&gt;DDI Inc&lt;/a&gt;., in cooperation with the U.S. Product Safety Commission (CPSC), voluntarily recalled approximately 3,000 &lt;a href="http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml09/09113.html"&gt;Construction Play Sets&lt;/a&gt; because the surface paint on the toys contains lead.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;a href="../../topic/lead-lead-based.aspx"&gt;Exposure to lead&lt;/a&gt; has been shown to cause &lt;a href="../../view.cfm/Topic=217"&gt;brain&lt;/a&gt; and &lt;a href="../../view.cfm/Topic=57"&gt;kidney damage&lt;/a&gt;, especially in &lt;a href="../../topic/%20/view.cfm/Topic=49%20"&gt;children&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;To date, the company has not received any reports of injury.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The toy recalls involves 136-piece Mega Construction Play Sets &amp;ndash;- Item No. 911346 -&amp;ndash; and includes various other toy construction equipment, buildings, roads and vehicles.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The toys were sold nationwide from October 2008 to November 2008, for $20.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt; &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Consumers are advised to take the recalled toys away from small children immediately and to contact the company to receive a full refund.&lt;/p&gt;
