The Taunton Press, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), is recalling more than 60,000 electrical wiring “how-to” books due to errors that could create a shock hazard to consumers.

To date, the company has not received any reports of injury regarding the recalled products.

The books included in the recall are: “Wiring Complete, Expert Advice from Start to Finish,” and “Wiring a House,” 3rd Edition (ISBN #978-1-56158-942-5).

Several errors contained in the books prompted the recall. The technical diagrams could lead consumers to incorrectly install or repair electrical wiring, posing an electrical shock hazard.

The books were sold nationwide at book stores, home improvement stores and various other retailers nationwide from February 2008 through November 2008 and cost about $25.

Consumers are advised to stop using the books and promptly return them to the place of purchase to receive a refund.

Consumer Contact: For additional information, contact Taunton at (800) 477-8727 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, or visit the firm's Web site www.taunton.com.
