Seven Injured In RTA Bus Accident

Seven passengers were taken to the hospital Monday after the RTA bus they were riding in was involved in a crash.

The driver of the bus hit the brakes to avoid hitting a truck that ran a stop sign at the intersection of Comanche and Brownlee. In doing so seven passengers were injured and suffered bumps and bruises when they were thrown about the bus. None of the injuries appeared to be serious or life threatening.

Police are looking for the driver of the truck, failed to stop following the accident.

Woodsboro Man Killed In Train Accident

A Woodsboro man was killed when the vehicle he was driving was struck by a train.

The train accident occurred just after 4:00 p.m. on May 14, at County Road 34 and Highway 77, said Robstown Police Department. According to accident reports, Kenneth Cobb, 42, was driving his 1998 BMW eastbound on County Road 34 when he failed to yield for a northbound train.

His vehicle was thrown into a nearby field when the train struck the passenger side of the vehicle.

Cobb was taken to Christus Spohn Memorial Hospital where he later died, said Sgt. Albert Stout, with the Robstown Police Department.
